What we do

Our service offering

We believe that the art of collaboration is crucial for succeeding in dealing well with the complex issues faced in today's business environment and beyond. We invest time and attention to develop close working partnerships with the organisations, their leaders and the individuals we work with. We bring a highly attentive presence, extensive experience and, in the midst of the process, we simultaneously hold several perspectives in every intervention – especially in the difficult moments when change feels tough.

Organisational
Development

Our work intentionally integrates and weaves together individual, team and organisational transformation. It is always a collaborative approach whereby we work with the organisation’s leaders, managers and key stakeholders to ensure that we provide very focussed interventions and inputs rather than ‘off-the shelf’ solutions tailor. Our clients appreciate us for our commitment to their vision and aspirations and the disciplined steps that are needed to reach them. We also provide for the unique needs and potential of individuals by supporting their motivation in a parallel journey of development, engagement and ultimately satisfaction.

Individual
Development

Our offering to individual development includes taking the GLP with a personal one-hour debrief, immersive workshops and events, individual developmental coaching packages as well as our book Street Smart Awareness and Inquiry-in-Action, featuring 45+ everyday practices of transformation. Our approach to developmental coaching relies on the use of the GLP as a framework for understanding leadership development and is the underpinning way of thinking about and navigating developing maturity.

The Global
Leadership Profile

Our approach to development relies on the use of the GLP as a framework for understanding leadership development and is the underpinning way of thinking about developing maturity. A self-assessment and also the profile tool – the GLP, locates a person’s stage of leadership maturity and is the mechanism for creating a snapshot of a person’s centre of gravity action logic. The action logics encapsulate and describe the eight most characteristic leadership styles of acting and inquiring that adult’s typically utilise that we call: Opportunist, Diplomat, Expert, Achiever, Redefining, Transforming, Alchemical, and Ironic.

AMARA’S APPROACH

Our stance is characterised by:

  • Using the approach as a methodology towards the commonly defined purpose and goals, the challenges and potential of the individual, team and/or organisation and what is present in the room.
  • Encouraging others to seek and trust their own knowing and intuition.
  • The importance of modelling and developing a culture of feedback in a respectful way both personal and relational.
  • We are pragmatic and action oriented blended with appropriate reflection and external input.
  • Theories, models and external expertise are valued when and if they are beneficial to accelerate development and progress.
  • Working in collaboration and also surfacing and using internal talent to ensure sustainable development after we exit.

THE AMARA WAY – For Transforming and Aware Leadership

The Amara Way framework we have developed in Amara to enable leaders to move with agility. This describes and embraces the embedded practice of Inquiry-in-Action, which is influenced by Action Inquiry, the only approach statistically confirmed to generate both individual and organizational transformation.
